Blast & Cast is a team effort, and volunteers make up the vast majority of our team. In fact, our centralized administrative staff exist only to support the grassroots efforts of our volunteers in their communities. There are lots of ways to volunteer your time and effort to help point outdoorsmen to the cross.
Our events rely on volunteers to keep costs down and quality high. Boat owners volunteer to take parties out fishing, experienced outdoorsmen volunteer to lead groups and take inexperienced members under their wing, and teams of volunteers help with cooking, cleanup, and more throughout each event. If you would like to volunteer at an event, sign up for the event and then reach out to the event chairman to find out how you can serve. You can sign up for an event on our Upcoming Events page.
Our Field Staff and Pro Staff teams are designed to help develop our presence in local communities and on tournament trails. Redfish, bass, squirrel dogs, field trials, 3D shoots, or any other outdoor sport, we want to develop a Gospel presence wherever outdoorsmen gather. You can learn more about our Field Staff and Pro Staff program HERE.
Each of our chapters is directed by a team of volunteer leaders. A sustained ministry effort is too much for any one person to lead, but a team of leaders with varying spiritual gifts, experience levels, skills, and abilities can lean on each other for support and help develop a sustainable chapter capable of reaching outdoorsmen with the Gospel for decades to come. Most teams have three to five leaders who meet monthly via conference call. Leadership experience is not required, but strong character, a passion for reaching the lost, and a three-year commitment are required. Our Executive Board of Directors provides accountability and business support for the ministry throughout the year. Good board members are hard to find, but vital to the success of our ministry efforts. Board members set our annual budgets and ensure that everything we do is God-honoring and pointing outdoorsmen to the cross. We often rely on board members to assist with critical functions like networking, vision development, hiring, banking, major purchases, fundraising, donor appreciation, and much more. Board members must be elected to the board, serve three-year terms, and meet on a quarterly basis. If you have experience in leadership, management, finance, or fundraising and would like to put those skills to use for the Kingdom, you can apply for a position on our Executive Board HERE.
