Purpose:
To point outdoorsmen to the cross by introducing local anglers, businesses, and churches to the North Texas region of Blast & Cast Men’s Ministries.
Date:
Saturday, October 26, 2024, from 6:30 am until 2:00 pm. at Palo Pinto RV Park Clubhouse (1921 Ranch to Market Rd 3137, Palo Pinto, TX 76484).
Guest Speaker at 1:30 pm.

Cost: $25.00 fee for all tournament participants. All entry fees go towards the prize pot for tournament winners. No charge for volunteers.
Age Limitations/Restrictions:
No age restriction. This is a family-friendly event. Children under 14 yrs must always have a parent or guardian with them on the water. Children must be able to operate their own kayak. Please observe water safety regulations. All participants must wear a Personal Floatation Device (PFD) while in their kayak.
Meals:
Please bring your favorite snacks and drinks to enjoy while on the water. A free lunch will be provided at 1:30 pm.
Rules:
- No perfect people allowed. Come as you are, no pretending.
- No Drunkeness.
- Please be mindful of your language when youth participants are around.
- Have a good time.
- Meet new friends!
What to bring:
- Kayak
- Personal Floatation Device – (PFD) is required and must be worn in the Kayak.
- Valid Texas freshwater fishing license
- Everyone should bring their own fishing tackle and gear for the Fishing Tournament. Please don’t expect volunteers to lend out their gear or tackle.
- Measuring Board (clearly marked).
- Camera or Cell Phone for submitting fish pictures at the end of the event.
- Sunscreen, hat, sunglasses.
- Drinks and Snacks (optional).
- A willing attitude that’s eager to help make it work and have a good time – remember, everyone there is a volunteer, so set your expectations as though you hanging out with a group of friends.
Suggested tackle:
This is a “Catch and Release” Kayak Fishing Tournament. We will practice CPR (Catch, Photo, Release) for this event. Each angler should bring their own fishing gear. Appropriate rods are medium-light to medium action, 6-7ft long, either spinning or bait-casting. 12lb test monofilament or 20-30lb test braided line is sufficient. We recommend putting fresh lines on reels if you haven’t done so in the last few months.
