Purpose: Reach men with the Gospel through the shared experience of Hunting. To build strong relationships with core volunteers and outfitters who will help grow Blast & Cast in the Central Texas region.

Dates: Primary check-in begins on Friday, December 13, 2024, at 4:00 pm.  Please contact Leigh Johannsen at 804.824.3058 if you will not be able to check in by 6:00  pm on Friday.  The event will officially end at 9:00 am on Sunday, December 15, 2024.

Liability/Minors:  All participants will be required to sign a liability waiver at sign-in. Participants must be at least 16 years old for this event, and all participants under age 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Lodging: McClain Ranch Lodge – 546 West County Rd 400, Coleman, TX 76834.

Registration: Participants will register via a private link. Please do not share the link with anyone.

Hunting:  Sandhill Crane and Duck hunt with the opportunity to fish a stocked bass pond and shoot clay pigeons during times when not hunting.

Each hunting participant is required to bring their own gear (listed below).  Participants should anticipate hiking into hunting locations.  While we keep fathers and sons together, usually you will be hunting with people you don’t know.  This is done purposefully so please don’t be surprised.  Please remember to be flexible and work together to make the event successful.

Freebies/Door prizes: All participants will receive a custom hat.

Rules:

  1. No perfect people allowed. Come as you are, no pretending.
  2. No drunkenness. Alcohol in moderation is allowed only after hunting is done for the day. Safety is a must!
  3. Please watch profanity. We want to keep the environment kid-friendly.
  4. Have a good time.

What to bring:

  • Texas Hunting License with state and federal waterfowl stamps.
  • Freshwater Fishing License if you plan to fish the pond.
  • Personal camo hunting gear, firearms, and waterfowl ammo.
  • Fishing gear if you plan on fishing in the stocked bass pond.
  • Cooler to bring home some “ribeye in the sky”.
  • A willing attitude that is eager to help make it work. Have a good time and remember that everyone is a volunteer, so set your expectations as though you are on a weekend trip with friends.
