“For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse.” Romans 1:20
Purpose: To build meaningful relationships with other outdoorsmen for the purpose of leading them to, or back to, Jesus Christ.
Keynote speaker: Dane LePlatt, Campus Pastor – Sagebrush Church, Farmington Campus
Dates: Primary check in will begin on Thursday, June 23rd at 7pm. If you will not be able to check in by 7pm on Thursday, please let us know ahead of time. The event will officially end at 8:30am on Sunday, June 26th.
Liability/Minors: All participants will be required to sign a liability waiver at sign in. Participants under 18 years of age must have a parent or guardian present at the event.
Lodging: LePlatt Lodge – 56 Road 4275, Navajo Dam, NM 87419
Registration: First registered first reserved!
Hunting: We will have volunteers to lead fishing groups on both drift boat and wading trips. Our volunteers are paying their way for the event and are not professionals or licensed guides. This is a buddy trip with friends, not a guided trip. Please bring cash to assist with any extra supplies needed. Each volunteer will be assigned a fishing party each day. While we keep fathers and sons together, usually you will be fishing with people you don’t know. This is done purposefully so please don’t be surprised. Additionally, we will try to pair volunteers with parties suitable to their preferred method of fishing, but please remember to be flexible as this won’t always be possible.
Volunteers will be introduced to their parties in our meetings. Please see your volunteer group leader for assistance and/or special needs with regard to fishing.
Meals: Breakfas, lunch, and dinner will be provided for both Friday and Saturday. Breakfast will be served on Sunday morning. Drinks and snacks will be available in limited amounts, so plan to bring your favorite soft drinks. You may also want to pack food to bring with you while you’re out fishing.
Freebies/Door prizes: Everyone present at the event will receive an event t-shirt and an entry for the door prize drawing that will be held on Saturday night. If you’d like to donate door prizes , please contact the event chairman at the number provided below.
Rules:
- No perfect people allowed. Come as you are, no pretending.
- No drunkenness. Alcohol in moderation is allowed after all fishing is done for the day. Safety is a must!
- Please watch profanity. We want to keep the environment kid friendly.
- Have a good time.
What to bring:
- Valid New Mexico fishing license
- Fishing tackle
- Sleeping bag and pillow
- Toiletries and bath towel
- Snacks and drinks for in the field
- A willing attitude that’s eager to help make it work and have a good time. Remember, everyone at the event is a volunteer. Set your expectations as though you are going on a weekend trip with friends, not a guided fishing trip!
